The house

Nine apartments, a courtyard, an olive garden

Croatian hospitality meets European open-mindedness. We are an international host couple and speak Croatian, German, French, English and Spanish.

Every apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, a shower room and a sunny terrace facing the garden, a balcony or a roof terrace.

All guests share the courtyard with the large round table, and right next to it the communal barbecue. You are welcome to eat as many figs from the fig tree as you like. Parking on the property is free.

The village

Raslina

Small and quiet, away from the holiday bustle, but not sleepy. There is a small Catholic church, a village school and a basketball court the residents built themselves. A small supermarket, a café and a pizzeria mean you can find everything you need in the village.

In front of the village lies Lake Prokljan, a special sea inlet connected to the Adriatic by the Šibenik channel. Fresh water from the Krka makes it less salty than the open sea, and the water is constantly mixed naturally.

Raslina is a place for anyone who appreciates simple, authentic Dalmatia: quiet, close to nature and yet well placed for exploring the coast and the historic towns of the region.

Small supermarket

A small shop for everyday essentials.

Fresh fish

Right next to the supermarket a local fisherman sells his fresh catch. Get up early, or call and order.

Pizzeria

A small pizzeria in the middle of the village: simple, local and perfect for an evening without the car.

Café Dalmatino

Right on Lake Prokljan. A lovely spot for a coffee, a cold drink and a little peace by the water.

Balote

The Croatian game of boules. Watching is fine, joining in is better.

Basketball court

In the evening the village's young and young at heart meet here. They play whatever works: basketball, football or volleyball. What matters is having a ball and enough players.

Getting here

How to get to Raslina

Villa Smokvica is at Put Drage 37, the new street name, formerly Put Sv. Mihovila 110. Parking is next to the house by the olive garden, from where a small stone path leads to the house.

By car

Raslina is easy to reach on the Croatian road network. Coming from the north or south, take the A1 motorway and then the well-built road towards Šibenik and Raslina.

From Šibenik it is about 14 km, around 20 minutes by car.

Most sat navs cannot find the street name. The easiest way is to enter “Raslina” and then follow the map, or use the coordinates 43°48′15.8″N 15°51′17.1″E. Villa Smokvica can also be found on Google Maps.

By plane

The nearest airports are Zadar and Split. From Zadar airport it is about 75 km to Raslina and from Split about 85 km, by hire car mostly on the A1 motorway and good main roads.

If you prefer not to drive, you can take a transfer, a taxi or an Uber from either airport to Raslina.

By public transport

The easiest connection is via Šibenik. A direct bus runs from there to Raslina and takes about 25 minutes. On weekdays it runs up to 8 times a day, 3 times on Saturdays and twice on Sundays.

Šibenik is well served by buses from Zagreb, Zadar, Split and other major Croatian cities.

By boat

Raslina lies right on Lake Prokljan, which is connected to the Adriatic by the Šibenik channel. If you come by your own boat, you can plan your arrival from the water.

Parking

The parking spaces are next to the house by the olive garden, free and without booking. There is one space for each apartment.
